Honouring Service This ANZAC Day: Discover Our New Veteran Search
As Australians prepare to mark ANZAC Day on 25 April 2026, many of us will pause to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the men and women who served our country. Whether attending a dawn service, researching family history, or simply taking a quiet moment of remembrance, ANZAC Day remains one of the nation’s most significant occasions.
At Catholic Cemeteries and Crematoria, remembrance is not limited to a single day. Across our cemeteries and memorial parks rest veterans whose lives were shaped by military service – each with a story that deserves to be preserved and shared.
To support this, we’re proud to introduce a new veteran search function on our website. This tool allows families, historians, and community members to easily search for veterans, access burial locations, and, where available, read personal histories and view images.
This initiative builds on our ongoing commitment to honouring Australia’s service personnel with dignity and accuracy. Over time, historical records can contain small but meaningful errors—details like service numbers, battalions, or dates may be recorded incorrectly. Our work aims to carefully review and verify these records, ensuring each veteran’s story is accurate and respectfully preserved.
For those exploring ANZAC Day history, tracing military service records, or looking to find a veteran’s grave, this new functionality offers a valuable and accessible resource. It also provides an opportunity for families to reconnect with loved ones’ stories and contribute additional information, photographs, or records to enrich our shared history.
This ANZAC Day, we invite you to take part in remembrance in a meaningful way. Use the veteran search to discover the stories of those who served, reflect on their contributions, and help ensure their legacy continues for future generations.
Lest we forget.
